Mexico A Place Where We Can Tour And Vacation - 1087 Words
Mexico In the past, the United States was a part of Mexico and now it is our neighbor to the south (Mexico, n.d.). Mexico is a place where we can tour and vacation. Those living in Mexico live different lives than we do in the United States (Mexico, 2012.). About 7000 B.C., Mexicans learned to grow plants for food and soon after, they were able to settle in villages and those villages later became towns (Mexico, 2012.). Mexico at that time suffered as a Spanish colony for over 300 years and was a ââ¬Å"feudalâ⬠country (Mexico, 2012). Before the Spanish came to Mexico, it was home to different native cultures spreading from what is now known as the southwestern United States through Mexico and into Central America (Mexico, 2012.).Between theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The Aztecs forced the Spaniards out of Tenochtitlan and two years later, Cortes returned to the city and took control of Tenochtitlan (Mexico, 2012). Cuauhtemoc, the last Aztec emperor was tortured and he is now a Mexican hero (Mexico, 2012). The locals of Mexico and tourists come to see different native artifacts like the ââ¬Å"statue-topped pyramidsâ⬠at Tula, the Mayan murals at Bonaparte, the Mayan temples at Palenque, and the large complex at Chechen Itza (Mexico, 2012). Mexicans do things the way they want to when the have their festivals, food, language, and artistic culture (Mexico, 2012). The foods eaten by Mexicans depend on the amount of money in the home (Mexican Culture: Customs Traditions, 2015). For the working families, th ey normally eat corn or wheat tortillas, beans, rice, tomatoes, chili peppers and a type of pork sausage called chorizo (Mexican Culture: Customs Traditions, 2015). They also eat empanadas, which are pasty pockets with sweet fillings that are eaten with their hands, they also love spicy foods (Mexican Culture: Customs Traditions, 2015). Those living in middle or upper class eat foods that the Americans and Europeans eat (Mexican Culture: Customs Traditions, 2015). Mexico is also known for its Tequila which is made from the ââ¬Å"agave cactusâ⬠and soda is also very popular (Mexican Culture: Customs Traditions, 2015).
